I want to copy the KDE "root" user account over to another user and
want to make certain that I don't lose anything important. Is the
following enough/ok:

While logged in as "root" user:

Open terminal window and type following commands:
su userAcct
cp /root/.kde2 /home/userAcct
cp /root/Mail /home/userAcct
cp /root/KDesktop /home/userAcct

What exactly are you trying to save from the root account?

I think you want to use the cp -R option to pick up all the
subdirectories in your copies. Also, don't forget to change the
ownership of the files you copy when you are done.

Sorry, typed too quickly, should be "cp -r src dest". Actually if I do a
cp -r with "su userAcct" logged into the terminal, the ownership should
transfer as "userAcct".

I want all email/konq settings.

And KDE look/feel.

Thank You,
Anthony
