Assuming your question was "what should *be* in /bin/login?"... :-)

/bin/login is an executable which is launched from getty (or a variant
thereof) which receives your username and password, and decides whether
you are allowed to access the system. It is the program which provides
the
hostname login:
and
Password:
prompts, then calls your login shell if you are authorised.
