Yes. I run 7.1 here. Updated to 2.4.2 after dicovering that my scsi "disappeared" I shortly discovered that mk_initrd is needed before rerunning lilo.

It's covered in the SuSE Handbook (7.1) under kernel section

Is this peculiar to 6.4 or 7.0 upgrade, or does it happen when upgrading the
kernel under 7.1 as well? Has anyone seen this under 7.1?
