Well line 2 was a comment.

I went ahead and deleted the comment line. No go still.

/lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB/build/include/linux/config.h: At top level:
/lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB/build/include/linux/config.h:2: parse error before `1'
/lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB/build/include/linux/config.h:4: undefined or invalid # directive
/lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB/build/include/linux/config.h:8: undefined or invalid # directive
/lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB/build/include/linux/config.h:13: undefined or invalid # directive
/lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB/build/include/linux/config.h:16: undefined or invalid # directive
/lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB/build/include/linux/config.h:20: undefined or invalid # directive
.
.
.

I don't know if the file is wrongly formatted or something.

Well there is a lot of crap output and then this:

Unable to build the vmmon module.

For more information on how to troubleshoot module-related problems, please have

Execution aborted.

This usually means that you have a string that is missing the double quotes
at the end, so open up config.h at line 2 and check for something that looks
like:

#define SOMECONST "some text

note the missing double quote at the end. Just add the double quote and try
to compile again.

The rest of these errors are ancilliary to the first one.

Good luck!
