Which is not bad at all. Your RPM database seems to be intact - have a
look at /var/lib/rpm - this is where the main RPM databases are located.

The creation of RPM database backups is defined by two variables in
/etc/rc.config: "RPMDB_BACKUP_DIR" (which defaults to
/var/adm/backup/rpmdb) and "MAX_RPMDB_BACKUPS" (which defaults to 5). Do
these variables exist and do they have a valid value? The daily cron job
/etc/cron.daily/aaa_base_backup_rpmdb uses these values to create the
backups.

Huh, /usr/share/doc/packages was completely empty? Or was the gaim info
missing?
