This is indeed strange. Do you know if this happens with a 2.2.x kernel?
Programs like 'ls' or 'cp' shouldn't be segfault. I was going to suggest
checking what versions of libraries you're using, but that probably wouldn't
help :(

This is normal, don't worry about it.
