OK, than I'm giving out a public call to someone to proofread it. Manu, are you okay with doing it again? Though it should be okay grammatically. As for the first lesson, I'll be publishing it sometime before friday, as I'll be on a hiking trip from saturday to tuesday. What I need for someone to do is not forget to publish it, come tuesday. Though i'll send out another notice when i publish it, just as a reminder. Hi guys. Here goes another 'noob friendly' suggestion, which could subsequently help 'raising the bar' with newer linux users, or leisure users, if you may. The idea is the following: I wrote commandline Monday, but it can be any day, which is usually a slow day in the news section. On that day, I'd publish a short article on a specific command, what it does, and use an example. It could have quite a few benefits: 1) A fun way to learn commandline 2) Easier teaching and adoption of the commandline culture in the exclusively GUI world 3) 1 and 2 would ideally help in raising the bar with locating problems, subsequently maybe help newer users like me file more quality bug reports without having the developers and maintainers waste time issuing instructions on how to gain more information on the bug, or the forum problem topic. It would be actually an 'as you go' learning experience for me also, as I decided to start learning commandline, so it would be a great excuse for me to keep at it. We could also add a 'conf file of the week' or something of the sort, to subtly learn which files, log files and such usually appear with which problems. What do you think of this idea? Feedback would be very generous on your part. P.S.: Could someone please publish the news article, It's been sitting in review line for days now. It won't be exactly news if it's not published. subject : "WIKI to Mentoring" ??, alone to together, or "less doc-more humans ? hi again to the marketing ppl, As we did start a brainstorming meeting at Dubrovnik, I am still exploring a way to go from : go and do it (alone) to "how we can have fun together while doing marketing (attractiv, welcoming...) for openSUSE?" - As a starting point, you can find a mentoring brainstorming (mindmap attached or text/ pictures => see Morgane Marquis on google+) ok it's not 5 lines, but if you give me a piece of fee back, it'll be great-ty in advance xx - Then now ... [opensuse-marketing] A few words about the OSC brainstorming/marketing

Just a few words about the OSC brainstorming (not a complete synthesis, but some points I do remember) for those who did not go there (and those who were there, dont hesitate to add your own feed back) : 1. Izabel asked about a "marketing Strategy", and apparently, the word strategy is not appreciate that much (according to Richard). so ... guide line ? a kinda direction ? other word ? 2. Richard as a board member told us that the year coming priority is to get more contributors in openSUSE. The question is how ?? (And he talked about the website would need a refresh ... but the SUSE designer team have no time ...) 3. According to me (each one can add his own point of vue), marketing is not only a mission of "being visible" but "being attractiv" Example : ok for OSC pictures all over the web, but I am not sure that an empty conference room is a good thing same for articles or news ... which are necessary and I think that for ex Yorgo (Greece) and Jos do a great job - or did ? will go on doing ? Zvebor told that you did not have the time to write the article for OSC ? And Robert (when Isazel asked) said that Jos will go on writing openSUSE news. So ? 4. Back to the brainstorming : attractive ... what would "attract" developpers in openSUSE (more or different than other distributions) ? and then a strategy (lol Izabel, no not a strategy) any answer ?
