Your wife is right. The time was short and it was focused on too wide an audience. Advanced don't want to create a "Hello world" or learn Basics. Beginners can't begin on advanced level. You need some different workshops or something about many days, what succeed. How about a workshop like 2011 held by Pascal? It extended over many days, but all were able to learn new things. Hi openSuse marketing list, Max has recommended to write you in order to request openSuse DVDs for our next big information booth on free software. We did similar information desks in our largest shopping street in the last years and openSuse supported it by sending us promotion material in the past. You can find links to reports from our events further down this conversation. We would be very pleased to spread openSuse discs (and other promotion material) again, if you are willing to provide it to us. Please write me back as well if you can not do this because I need to know as soon as possible in order to have enough time to organise more discs from other sources. Hi Marketing people, A few weeks ago some of us talked about reviving a form of weekly news. Of course most of us agreed to have something every month instead of every week. After talking with a few community people about it and how we could do that we came up with some ideas. Some of the ideas are: - Have a monthly instead of a weekly release. - Have it both in electronic form as well as in a printable form. - Have it published every second Monday of the Month - Have articles that are written for (and why not exclusively) for Monthly news. - Host monthly team reports - Release in News page - Have interviews of people around and inside openSUSE. - Unify the output from all the communication channels into a single news place. Most of the above ideas are not new and we surely need some more before we proceed but the general idea is to have the first issue released at March 10. We also need some artwork done and a catchy title for it. [opensuse-marketing] openSUSE hackaton in March, Paris, FR

Hi everyone, the french openSUSE community is about to organize a hackaton in Paris, France, on 8/9 March of 2014. The event will happen in the Epitech engineering school, which has been eased thanks to the partnership between SUSE France and Epitech. People should work at least on open stack and if things go well, there should be people working with OBS, openSUSE ARM, GIS Softwares, SUSE Studio and potentially more. That being said I have two questions : - how can the openSUSE marketing team help us in this challenge, particularly regarding train tickets ? - Where can I advertise this event to the global community ?
