[zypp-devel] zypper does not "see" packages in repo

Hello, I wasn't sure which mailing list would best address this but seeing it's zypper related, zypp-devel and softwaremgmt seemed appropriate. I have 2 local yum/rpm-md repositories which I'm using to deploy packages internally at my employer, opensuse 11.3 and 12.1 systems. Both repos have been functioning as expected but after upgrading one system from 11.3 ->12.1 earlier i'm seeing some odd behavior. When I add new packages to the 12.1 repo, update it with createrepo, and run zypper refresh the new packages are not viable and I can't install/list/search those package. On the repo server I've removed the repodata files and reran createrepo to regenerate them. All files have 0644 permissions and the dirs' 755, all owned by root, I can browser to and download the w/a browser fine. On the client I've removed all the repos and added only this one. I've unset my http_proxy values so zypper makes a direct connection to the server. I've run "zypper clean -a" to purge the cache as well as removed the raw files under /var/cache/zypp/{packages,raw,solv}/. Also the /var/cache/zypp/raw/local-repo/repodata/ *primary.xml.gz doesn't contain any entry for new packages I've added. [zypp-devel] Python bindings examples

Hi, I've forked the mintWelcome sometime ago and I wanted to add a bit more of functionality to it (mainly installing repositories). I was thinking in using python-zypp bindings for this task, but I'm struggling a bit to find some examples and documentation. Where can I find some docs and some examples (I'm only interested in installing a repository). (yeah I could do this easilly with pycurl, but zypp might become more useful for stuff I'm thinking for the future, so it would be a nice start). [zypp-devel] RFC - Bug 737843 - zypper patch installs optional patches

Hi. bnc#737843 requires zypper not to install optional patches per default in 'zypper patch'. Issues I see when fixing this: 1) 'zypper lp' should IMO remain unchanged and continue to display all, including optional, patches. 2) It should have some impact on 'zypper pchk', which returns the exit codes 0, 100 (ZYPPER_EXIT_INF_UPDATE_NEEDED) or 101 (ZYPPER_EXIT_INF_SEC_UPDATE_NEEDED), if no updates, updates or even security updates are pending. If 'zypper patch' will omit optional patches, 'zypper pchk' should do the same. But if optional patches do not count to ZYPPER_EXIT_INF_UPDATE_NEEDED, zypper would return 0 if only optional patches are pending. But 0 should IMO be 'no patches at all'. Thus I'd like to introduce a new return value: ZYPPER_EXIT_INF_OPTIONAL_UPDATES_ONLY 3) To install all optional patches you can use 'zypper patch -g optional'. But there seems to be no way to install 'all', including optional, patches in one go. You can not pass multiple '-g <category>' options (1st wins), nor some <categorylist> like '-g optional,recommended', nor '-g all'. I think at least '-g all' should be implemented. [zypp-devel] .repo file values

Hello, Is there a document that details all the acceptable values of a zypper .repo file? Not much is coming up on google other than a Meego wiki page stating the file format it identical to yum. I'm writing a Puppet type description, zypprepo, for zypper repositories and I want to ensure I'm including all the appropriate values.
