Hi
I'd like to make some noise about this bug:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=637764
I assume it stems from the PK zypp backend. Since both gnome-packagekit and
kpackagekit are affected.
The implications of it are many and severe:
* A return to the repo ping-pong of pre-vendor sticky times
* Users installing OBS and packman updates thinking they're official patches
* All the effort to implement and explain vendor sticky in zypp/yast will have
been more or less in vain
* It will be confusing for users that the updater behaves differently and
shows load more updates than yast or zypper up/patch
Basically what the packagekit updaters are doing on 11.4, is the equivalent of
pushing users to run 'zypper dup' on a regular basis.
Surely this can't be intended? Any chance it can be fixed in time for 11.4?
