Hi,
starting with the upcoming beta6/rc1 it will be even easier to try changes to the install system: you can pass your updated packages directly as driverupdate; e.g.:
dud=ftp://foo/bar/yast2-xxx.rpm
replaces (or adds) yast2-xxx in the install system. You can also pass cpio archives or fs images instead of rpms, if you like.
If you need to update several packages, use an info file:
info=ftp://foo/bar/dud_list
# cat dud_list dud=ftp://foo/bar/yast2-xxx.rpm dud=ftp://foo/bar/yast2-yyy.rpm dud=ftp://foo/bar/yast2-zzz.rpm
*** Note *** Currently works only via ftp and http.

Cool, thanks! That's exactly what I've missed for testing yast2-qt installation issues.
