There are ~no branches AFAIR, we do conditional compiles for different yast2 versions.
Yes, this is planned (not only for the gtk module). However, since I'd like to keep the history, I will need cooperation of forgesvn admin and our SVN expert, therefore I cannot promise any date when this could happen. Will try to do it as soon as possible.
