Hello there,
I upgraded my Fujitsu Siemens PC from OpenSUSE 11.3 to 11.4.
When the system during boot switches from text mode to full graphics mode, the screen turns bright green and there is a mouse pointer visible, and it stays like this forever ... but switching to text console with Ctrl/Alt/F1 is possible.
When starting with vga=0x317 (instead of vga=0x31a), system hangs up completely during boot.
In file /var/log/Xorg.0.log, there is a suggestion to appeal to radeonhd@xxxxxxxxxxxx for help, so here comes my e-mail.
...
[ 23.292] (II) [DRM] Kernel mode setting disabled
[ 23.292] (EE) KMS is disabled. This is good for us, because RADEONHD conflicts with KMS.
[ 23.292] (**) RADEONHD(0): Depth 24, (--) framebuffer bpp 32
[ 23.292] (**) RADEONHD(0): Selected EXA 2D acceleration.
[ 23.292] (II) RADEONHD(0): Card not in database: 0x9598:0x174B:0xE410; using generic modesetting.
[ 23.292] If - and only if - your card does not work or does not work optimally
please contact radeonhd@xxxxxxxxxxxx to help rectify this.
Use the subject: 0x9598:0x174B:0xE410: <name of board>
and *please* describe the problems you are seeing
in your message.
[ 23.292] (--) RADEONHD(0): Detected an RV635 on an unidentified card
...
During the process of (upgrade) installation, the graphics worked fine.
What would I need to do to get my graphics back to normal?
Kind regards,
Andreas Krakowzcyk
