Happy-end hacking :) Nice
If Christian is really looking for the same change Alex already coded,
it may be as well good option to wait for Alex releasing patches and
port them to radeonhd. Should be easy, do-able. Of course unless
Christian want to spend some additional time doing this on his own or
unless it's other issue :) Anyway it's great to know we will have
fully functional audio in both: radeonhd and KMS soon :)

My hack was to change:
0x75A0 from 0x00000311 (radeonhd) to 0x10000310 (fglrx)
0x7604 from 0x00000800,(radeonhd) to 0x10000801 (fglrx)
With *both* of these changes made HDMI audio comes on. The "1" in the
high-end byte of 0x7604 makes no difference. The change to 0x75A0 changes
the resolution to what looks like 1024x768, though with some screen elements
out of view and regardless of whether sound is working. As Christian says,
this is because it selects the alternate CRTC.
Happy-end hacking :) Nice
agd5f said on IRC his pending patches are for KMS, whereas Christian reckons
it is best to fix the RV7xx HDMI audio bug in radeonhd and then port working
code to KMS.
