I don't have access to my desktop computer (which has a Radeon HD4830) butIs your monitor/tv connected to HDMI or the DVI connector?
this timing issue does definitely take place. Mplayer (and YouTube
videos) seem to play twice as fast. When I change the default soundcard
order (by changing the index) and place the HDMI output as the second
soundcard, videos play with correct timing.
