Thank you for your answer Matthias Hopf.
I am using radeonhd with EXA now and can in fact do --rotate left.

Now i still suffer from this bug (
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21963 ) but i am sure this will be
fixed completely soon.
