We've already seen reports of bad repainting which seems related to using Qt
4.5 which is, so they claim, stretching video drivers to the breaking point
(i.e., finding bugs in video drivers).  I'm hoping that the devs can find
where
this is happening because it's moderately annoying.  However, what I'm writing
about here is worse.

I'm running KDE 4.2.85 (the first beta) plus Qt 4.5.1.  On top of this, I use
the x11 drm code from the r6xx-r7xx branch (as someone here helped me do a
while ago - kernel 2.6.28) and the radeonhd driver from git.

Understandably, kde has some, well, bugs.  Plasma crashes regularly and stuff
like that.  However, when it does, it eventually restarts, and that's when I
know my time is limited.  Shortly after the restart, my system locks up.
Entirely.  I can't ssh in.  Existing ssh sessions are dead.  Nothing works.

Now, I just can't wrap my head around how KDE could be causing this, other
than a bug in the video driver, maybe (probably?) even the drm/radeon module
in the kernel.  So, I'm coming to this list first.

I have an HD3870 (RV670, I think), though I highly suspect that this isn't the
issue and that it's actually just plain bugs related to the screen corruption
bug that has already been seen.

I'm attaching the Xorg log from the last hang.  Though I don't see anything
wrong, I could be missing something.

Note that the radeonhd driver I was running (assuming my logs are complete)
was commit 23d25fe7ed0ad6d519672439484cb39653785848.  I have upgraded to
d5844f5ba6708b186b2914ddc7cb39c3833570b8, though I doubt that the changes in
the interim have made any difference.

Do either of the following options fix the corruption?
Option "EXANoDownloadFromScreen"
Option "EXANoUploadToScreen"
