Hi. as per the xorg log file I'm reporting a couple problems here.
First off it says "unkown card detected" I presume thats somewhat normal for
780g boards?
Secondly I have to set the HPD option to off or the driver disables my VGA
port completely.
And last, I have a kvm that doesn't seem to load up the port properly, so the
driver never even bothers to enable the VGA port (no not using the kvm isn't
an option, and modifying the kvm to fix the problem is more than I want to
mess with). I've actually grabbed the drivers from git and made a small change
to have it skip the probing and just assume the port is connected, and it
works fine. In the future an xorg config option to force enable a port would
be quite handy.
Oh, and with KDE4 from svn (as of today), it seems to somehow grab the entire
card all to itself. glxgears and glxinfo exit with: Error: couldn't get an
RGB, Double-buffered visual.
I updated kde4 a few days ago and was getting just a blank black screen, I
can't say if that was kde's fault or radeonhd's, but with the update to kde I
made today, everything seems to work.
I tried to send my xorg log and config files, but your mail server rejected it
(plain text files of all things).
