I have been unable to get the radeonhd driver working on a 64bit system
using the above graphics card.  The xorg log file is attached.

The kernel is: Linux 2.6.28-8-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 6 00:09:20 UTC
2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

and I'm using Ubuntu jaunty.

The driver I have tried is:

xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd_1.2.4-2_amd64.deb

The graphics hardware is a HD3450 system, described at
http://www.hisdigital.com/

The monitor is an ASUS MK241H, 1920x1200 LCD.

I'm using a DVI connection from the graphics card to the monitor.

When I start X, the screen goes black and remains that way.  The text mode
consoles remain accessible using Ctrl-Alt-F*, and X can be killed using
Ctrl-Alt-Del.

I've tried specifying the modeline in the xorg.conf, but it makes no
difference.

The standard xserver-xorg-video-ati driver works normally, using the default
xorg.conf.

looks like you are hitting a mode handling bug in xserver 1.6. fix is here:
