Alex, I think it's safe to include <inttypes.h> for those uint32_t etc.
typedefs. I always thought about adding that.

Regarding <stdint.h> and <inttypes.h> - AFAIK it's common sense that
inttypes.h is considered more compatible than stdint.h.

What do you think?

I can go either way. I'll defer to what you or Egbert think is best.
