Summary: Loaded radeon.ko from r6xx-r7xx breaks suspending
Product: xorg
Version: 7.4
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Driver/radeonhd
AssignedTo: agd5f@xxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: zajec5@xxxxxxxxx
QAContact: xorg-team@xxxxxxxxxxx

I'm not sure if this is bug in radeon.ko but without it suspending works, so
I'll try luck here.

Machine in Sony VAIO FW11S with
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3400
Series

I use openSUSE 11.1 x86_64 with current master git of xf86-video-radeonhd and
current r6xx-r7xx-support of mesa/drm. I updated kernel to 2.6.27.19 using
standard update repository.

Part of my xorg.conf is:
Option "AccelMethod" "none"
# Option "DRI"
(yup, DRI commented out, so radeon and drm don't load when starting X).

If I just boot, switch to init 5 and load "drm" ─ I can suspend and resume
without a single problem. After clicking "suspend" displays becomes black
(backlight on) for 3-4 secs, then VT1 appears and after next 1 sec system is
suspended.

However if I load radeon (modprobe radeon) I can not suspend anymore. Displays
becomes black for 3-4 secs, then VT1 appears and that's all. I can wait for
minutes and nothing happens.

# s2ram -i
This machine can be identified by:
sys_vendor = "Sony Corporation"
sys_product = "VGN-FW11S"
sys_version = "C600CWDP"
bios_version = "R0250Y0"

Does this sound like radeon DRM bug? Can I get some additional info? Or more
likely it's s2ram (pm-utils?) bug?
