If I can help test something, let me know.  Otherwise I guess I'll wait it
out.

There is no acceleration code on the master branch for your chip. The
acceleration code for r6xx/r7xx chips (including yours) is only
available on the r6xx-r7xx-support branch of radeonhd and it requires
the r6xx-r7xx-support branch of the drm kernel modules.
