Thanks Alex.  I got to here without any errors following that links 
instructions:

[root@coyote linux-core]# pwd
/usr/src/drm/linux-core
[root@coyote linux-core]# make radeon.ko drm.ko
make: *** No rule to make target `radeon.ko'.  Stop.

Was there an obvious intermediate step I left out?
