Since a couple of weeks ago I'm seeing a really weird problem with the

Even stranger, the mouse cursor stays white!
Try `xgamma -gamma 1.0`.

If that doesn't work, do pure whites in general retain their hue or do
they appear significantly more yellow as well? A photo may help here.
