Thanks; I'll probably wait then. I was thinking the xvideo support was
still pretty far away (as in 1+ years rather than a few weeks/months),
but from what I gather above it's a bit closer than that.
Regardless, while I'm posting anyway - thank you very much for working
on the driver. And thanks to AMD/ATI for releasing the specs and
making this possible. It is *very* much appreciated.

Yes.
Thank you for the clarification.
R5xx / RS690 (including RS740) are supported EXA/XAA/TexturedVideo and
3D wise. R5xx cards may be a little hard to come by.
With shadowFB I found video pretty fast even under 1920x1200 full screen
(not tear free though). Considering this you may just want to wait
a little longer until acceleration is also supported for your card.
