I have recently rebuilt my machine and it is now the Abit A-S78H mobo
with 780G north bridge (HD 3200 graphics) with 4850e CPU and SuSE 11.0
(it was Abit KV8 Pro mobo, Radeon 9200SE discrete AGP graphics card,
Sempron 3000+ socket 754 CPU on SuSE 10.3).
The new config has much poorer video performance than the old and I
guess something is 'wrong'. In short my video picture is worse than
before and the CPU usage when playing video seems much higher.
Video playback acceleration is not yet supported for that line of
cards, hence the high CPU usage. Depending on the media player, this
can lead to poor performance or problems.
The best suggestion I can offer you is to look at any MythTV tweaks
for improving performance when Xv is not available.
