I am sending this email as instructed by the the Xorg.0.log file. I am
trying to
make graphics work on my new Lenovo ThinkPad W500 which comes with
dual graphics (an integrated Intel and a Mobility FireGL v5700. I have been
trying with both the proprietary ATI drivers and radeonhd ones even though.
Apparently both should work but none does on this laptop. The
output varies.

The case that I am reporting was obtained after switching off the
"switchable graphics" option in BIOS to select only the Discrete graphics.
I was hoping to avoid any potential confusion. The card has been configured
running  "SaX2 -r". The screen remains blank. The only error reported in
the log file is

"(EE) RADEONHD(0): RHDVGASave: VGA FB Offset (0xE0000000) is out of
range of the Cards Internal FB Address (0xD0000000)"
