I'm having the same problem: black screen after startX

Hardware: ASUS M51SE-AS023C laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470
OS: Ubuntu (Hardy)

Follow the installation as described in
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=843&num=1

Some log info:
RADEONHD: version 1.2.1, built from git branch master, commit c2139d8c
...
(II) RADEONHD(0): Unknown card detected: 0x95C4:0x1043:0x19D3.
...
(EE) RADEONHD(0): rhdAtomLvdsDDC: unknown record type: 48

I´m attaching the full log for details.

I tested other drivers (vesa, ati, fglrx) without sucess. This driver has the
log with more load information.
