The plan is to continue supporting opensource as we have done for r5xx

So you're getting there, R500 with DRI, UT2004... not bad. Congrats.
What about the future? So you got specs for the R500/600 - did
ATi/AMD ever drop a word on whether they will release specs for
future GPUs as well?
We have already released specs for the R6xx display engine and we are
working on an acceleration programming guide now which will be
released soon.
And yes, documentation for new chips will follow once it's ready :)
Not what I meant - will *ATi* release specs for GPUs to come? Did they
say anything on that?
Yes. I work for AMD, we're the ones releasing specs :)
Alex
And you decide if for example specs for the 4000 series are gonna be released?
The plan is to continue supporting opensource as we have done for r5xx
and r6xx for the newer chips.
