Why don't you use your distribution's package instead? At least as a
first step. Here's a few hints regarding the name of the package:
Debian: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd
Ubuntu: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd
Fedora: xorg-x11-drv-radeonhd
OpenSuse: xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd
Your distribution (if not listed), should use a similar name.
