Why don't you use your distribution's package instead? At least as a
first step. Here's a few hints regarding the name of the package:

Debian: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd

Ubuntu: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd

Fedora: xorg-x11-drv-radeonhd

OpenSuse: xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd

Your distribution (if not listed), should use a similar name.

Just for future reference: Mandriva calls it x11-driver-video-radeonhd .

I notice that we all use different naming schemes, and no-one uses the
upstream name (xf86-video-radeonhd). Ah, fun =)
