Hi,
I need a bit advice on following error:
- have a X1250 on a AMD64 system with FreeBSD 7.0
- that works with Vesa driver (but unsufficient resolution for my
Samsung SyncMaster 226BW with 1680x1050)
- but when I try radeonhd it gives:
"(EE) RADEONHD (0): Failed to detect a connected monitor
(EE) Screen(s) found but none have a usable configuration
Fatal server error:
no screens found"
I tried variations with modeline on/off, PCI# on/off, but makes no
difference
For any help thanks in advance!
Hi Matthias,
following information can I share:
- meanwhile I have commenced an update of the FreeBSD Version 7.0 I am
using,
- and that update included Gnome 2.22 and many updates in X11 incl
drivers, radeonhad is version 1.2.0
- then only because I was curious I replace vesa driver name in
xorg.conf by radeonhd
- and : voilĂ ! Suddenly it works!
- with 1680x1050 and so I am happy
just wanted to give that info so that you can check radeonhd as
"working" for FreeBSD 7.0 with ATI X1250 and Samsung SyncMaster
226BW ;-)
