Tried above patch, it builds and installed ok:

But, I still can't change backlight with 
sysctl dev.acpi_ibm.0.lcd_brightness

and also can't change display brightness with xrandr:

It shows:
xrandr --verbose

I can change backlight with:
xrandr --output PANEL --set BACKLIGHT 90
xrandr --verbose | fgrep BACK
        BACKLIGHT: 90 (0x0000005a) range:  (0,255)

But, actual brightness is not changed.

I have T60 also.
