Ok, weird.
When I remove these Screen and ServerLayout sections from xorg.conf,
it works correctly. Is that supposed to be that way?

Section "Screen"
       Identifier      "Default Screen"
       Monitor         "Asus"
        SubSection "Display"
                Depth     24
        EndSubSection
EndSection

Section "ServerLayout"
       Identifier      "Default Layout"
       Screen          "Default Screen"
       Inputdevice     "Generic Keyboard"
       Inputdevice     "Configured Mouse"
EndSection
