A few people are experiencing a black screen problem with digital
display interfaces. We are currently trying to track this down.
Here are some things you could try:
1. Your device has two digital connectors. Please try the other one and
let us know if this works. (This of course doesn't solve the real problem,
it just gives us some additional information).
2. Get a current driver from the GIT repository, build and install it, and
test. It's possible that your problem has been fixed already.
Instructions how to do this can be found on http://wiki.x.org/wiki/radeonhd
3. You can dump your BIOS and email it to us. Use 'rhd_conntest <pci_id> -d'
for this. It either comes with your system or is contained in the driver
sources you have downloaded for 2.
Cheers,
Egbert.

_Summary_:
The radeonhd driver, that is automatically selected for an ATI Radeon
X1650 XT (AGP) graphics card during the Mandriva 2008.1 b2 (and rc1)
installation process, does not work.
_Description of problem_:
During the initial install of Mandriva 2008.1 beta 2 (and rc1) the
radeonhd driver that is automatically selected for an ATI Radeon X1650XT
AGP card does not work and the system boots into a black screen and hangs.
I have attached a file containing the output from 'lspcidrake -v',
'Xorg.0.log' and 'xorg.conf'. The xorg.conf file was generated
automatically by XFdrake and the Xorg.0.log file was generated when
trying and failing to boot using the radeonhd driver. The graphics card
I have is an ATI Radeon X1650 XT card and is an AGP card with a Rialto
chip, note that it is not a PCIE card.
_Version-Release number of selected component_:
Mandriva 2008.1 beta2 (and rc1) installation process
x11-driver-video-radeonhd-1.1.1-0.20080325.1mdv2008.1.i586.rpm
_How reproducible_:
The installation process always selects the radeonhd driver for the ATI
Radeon X1650 XT card but the driver does not work with this card.
_Steps to Reproduce_:
1. Install M2008.1 beta2 (or rc1)
2. Accept the defaults for the graphics card
3. System will then hang with a black screen when booting as X will not
start.
Please let me know if you require any further information regarding this.
There is no indication in the log file that anything went wrong.
