Ideas?

Hi Ben,

The chipset is detected. Just not the PnP ID of the card.
It should work. If it doesn't please post the entire log.

Ok. Downloaded GIT head, compiled and installed the module.
Created a default xorg.conf file using /usr/X11/bin/Xorg -configure
then started /usr/X11/bin/Xorg -logverbose 7 with only the DVI
cable connected, and then did the same test with only the VGA
cable connected. I got output on the VGA port, and did not
get anything on the DVI.

As an aside, I have also tried a modified version of the driver
adding an entry for 0x7166 (paralleling the 0x7146 device
id). When I did this, and ran Xorg -configure, it configured
3 screens, the Nvidia and both x1550 screens. I was then
able to start Xorg and get a screen on the DVI port as well,
but I'm suspecting that my novice attempt at adding support
is probably not the right attempt. If anyone wants the
xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log file, I can provides those as well.

Ben
