This is actually a follow-up after the discussion with Matthias Hopf.

The problem is that after starting X without specifying "Option HPD off" in
xorg.conf, the server won't switch back to text terminal correctly. After
pressing <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Backspace> or switching using <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<F1> the
screen enters power-save mode.

Log file attached where "Option HPD off" has been commented out and where the
problem occurs.
