The radeonhd driver does not seem to manage to get the EDID information for
my laptop's (a Compaq 8510w) display.
The vesa driver does manage to get the EDID information, so I've attached
xorg logs for both drivers for reference.
Indeed. So is the panel working or not? If it is working, this is sort
of cosmetic, and I could imagine that the BIOS does construct some EDID
block by itelself in the Vesa case.
