))will this information help to implement in radeonHD the hardware video
acceleration for high definition video for RV610/630 cards ? I mean
avivoHD/uvd technology

What we released yesterday was for 5xx only. Next priority is 6xx 3D,
which will allow support of the most time consuming functions (MC,
scaling, colour space conversion etc) but will not include idct or uvd
hardware support for the remaining decode functions.

We will be looking into video decode hw after 3d info is available.
Current thinking is that idct HW info should be ok to release but we're
not sure about uvd yet.

In other words, 3d info should allow acceleration of 50-60% of the video
pipeline, idct should allow acceleration of another 20% or so, and we're
not sure about the last part yet. It's certainly possible to run the
decoder on shaders but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.
