Cannot get radeonhd driver working on my computer, which has 64-bit Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10. However, it works with ATI's proprietary driver that loads a kernel object module. Here is the x output log file I am also getting an error about cannot retrieve EDID, get-edid is not installed. This error is a bogus on the amd platform, since read-edid works only on Intel & PPC platforms. lspci output 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device 94c3 01:00.1 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device aa10 gdm[7818]: DEBUG: gdm_server_spawn: '/usr/bin/X :0 -br -audit 0 -auth /var/lib/gdm/:0.Xauth -nolisten tcp vt7' X Window System Version 1.3.0 Release Date: 19 April 2007 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 1.3 Build Operating System: Linux Ubuntu (xorg-server 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12ubuntu8) Current Operating System: Linux amd-64 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Dec 18 05:28:27 UTC 2007 x86_64 Build Date: 29 September 2007 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version.
