driver works fine at 1280x1024. i get some working display at 1600x1200, but screen flickers from time to time, which is annoying - therefore i went back to 1280x1024 (using radeonhd for day to day use).
driver still flickers at 1600x1200. [...]
This is what the monitor says is its preferred mode:
(II) RADEONHD(0): Modeline "1600x1200"x0.0 162.00 1600 1664 1856 2160 1200 1201 1204 1250 +hsync +vsync (75.0 kHz)
indeed, my screen's native resolution is 1600x1200 (and i would prefer sticking with this resolution!)
You should try using a mode with reduced blanking. I have no idea how that can be achieved easily with RandR. With NoRandR, it is trivial because you would just state Modes "1600x1200R"
xrandr --output DVI-I_1/digital --mode 1280x1024 works ok to change my resolution... but once again, i'd prefer having a non-flickering 1600x1200... do you know why it happens? if you need some more information from me, don't hesitate... thanks, jerome -- jquelin@gmail.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
