I am experiencing the problem of radeonhd not being able to detect modes. The problem is similar to the ones described recently in the mail threads: - Signal 11 with ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 on Asus/M2A-VM HDMI motherboard
Both have been fixed, the crash and the connector table issues. Well, at least they should be.
- ASUS A8Jp, Mobility Radeon X1700 - DVI-connected monitor doesn't work The driver outputs "RandR: No valid modes. Disabled." And with the option "NoRandr", the driver still canont detect any modes.
Probably again a broken/misinterpreted connector table. Can you run conntest as described in the README?
It used to work well in v0.0.4 driver, but later broken some where between v0.0.4 and v1.0.0. To be exact, the following commit on git is the last one known to work:
Initialize rhdPtr->randr before calling xf86InitialConfiguration().
The next one is adding HPD (hot plug detection) code, which actually
improves detection abilities - but in this case it doesn't.
