Hi!

I think I might have the same problem on my laptop that Martin Nowack
described Wed, 10 Oct 2007 11:41:55 +0200 Message-id:

.nowack@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>.

I grabbed the 0.0.2 version of the radeonhd driver at about 2007-10-26
13:50 and compiled it on my laptop.

When running radeonhd in 24-bit on my Z61m Thinkpad with an ATI X1400
GPU the laptop screen has a peculiar grainy marble-like pattern spread
across the screen. It is most visible in big single-color fields and
smooth color gradients. The grainy pattern is not there in the 16-bit
mode. The pattern appears just slightly brighter compared to the
background color (or is it the other way around?) and does not appear
to repeat itself regularly. I can offer to upload a photo of the
screen somewhere to show this if needed (a screenshot will not work).

My system (32-bit):

* Output from "uname -a":

2.6.22-fw6 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 4 01:37:54 CEST 2007 i686 Intel(R)
Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

* Xlog.0.log reports X11 version:

X Window System Version 7.2.0
Release Date: 22 January 2007
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 7.2

Other than that, great start on the driver!
Looking forward to XV at some point :-)

Best regards,
Andreas Wallberg
