Hello
I have ASUS A8Jp laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon X1700 (lspci output is 
ATI Technologies Inc M66-P [Mobility Radeon X1700])
When i try satrtup X server with radeonhd driver server is failed
As you ask i used conntest tool with and without addition monitor connection
results are in attached file
