Howdy, I have the same problem on my MacBook Pro. On Sat, Sep 29, 2007 at 03:27:01PM -0700, braydon fuller wrote:

I don't think you're supposed to have a Monitor section in your xorg.conf.
(II) RADEONHD(0): I2C device "RHD I2C line 2:ddc2" registered at address 0xA0. (II) RADEONHD(0): I2C device "RHD I2C line 2:ddc2" removed. (II) RADEONHD(0): No EDID data found on connector "Panel" (WW) RADEONHD(0): Unable to attach monitor to connector "Panel" ... (II) RADEONHD(0): Shutting down LVDS/TMDS
I think this is why the screen is blank: it's unable to read the EDID data, which causes it to mark the panel as inactive, which causes it to shut it down. On my system, the I²C transfer to read the EDID data fails. In rhd5xxI2CStatus, when the R5_DC_I2C_GO bit is unset the R5_DC_I2C_DONE isn't set either. It seems to work on other systems, so I don't know why it fails. -- Matt -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
