OK, too have tried ext2 but the problem has never shown up.
Did you always see only 0's in the corrupted data? I remember I saw pieces from other files and seemingly random data.
As far as I have investigated so far, it is always 0's. Most frequently, it is the first 2048 bytes which are set to zero, unless the file is less than 2048 bytes in size in which case it will be the whole file. Have, though seen some with 0's at the end of the file, starting at the final 2048 byte boundary for the remainder of the file. Can't recall now whether I have seen any with 0's in the middle of a file. Later today I will do some more tests and use hexdump and diff to get some better information for you. Chris
