Does anybody have any experience running the LITE ON LTR-32123S cd rw. I live in a small town and my local computer store only has this burner in stock. I can't seem to find out if its supported in linux. I'm running suse 8.0 pro on an epox mb with a 800 duron and 384 megs of ram. I don't see why this would be a bad burner. Generaly this is a very good cdwriter. I have not tested it under Linux but under a M$, and there it works very good. If the driver for RW has problems, well then the driver should need changing. Previous versions did work with older RW drives. Maybe you should wait to use 2.4. as it seems not every thing is fixed. For me with 2.4.18 it works under scsi fine for RO cdroms. For RW, I have my doubts as you can see on the lists. I expect this will be fixed in the next SuSE 8.1. until then I prefer using RO cdroms . Since the price is now so low (32 cents) I wonder who will buy stil RW cdroms at a multiple of the price.
If the RW driver is for you necessary. Use kernel 2.2.latest instead. -- Patrick Op de Beeck Registered Linux user #22996 alug@skynet.be patrick@arafox.com Linux * is an evolution like live. * para siempre. * is Multi Everything
