I've just seen a weird message in my dmesg output, from pktcdvd, after doing pktsetup -d /dev/pktcdvd0. It seems to suggest that either something (possibly pktcdvd itself) is doing odd things with kernel memory, or pktcdvd is using the wrong part of memory for something, which is a little worrying to say the least:
pktcdvd: writer 4low01.htm;q1=12;q2=25;q3=51;q7=130;q8=138;sz=728x90;ord=1024685104153_62e96565 unregistered
I'm pretty certain my memory is OK; I ran Memtest86 3.0 on it not so long ago and the full test found no errors in 3 passes.

You forgot to mention which version of the packet patch you are using. Maybe upgrading to 2.4.19-pre4 will help. -- Peter Osterlund - petero2@telia.com http://w1.894.telia.com/~u89404340
