Hello everybody, I just upgraded to an AMD Carrizo notebook. It works fairly decent. Just the fan runs a bit to often for my taste. glxinfo|grep vendor says: server glx vendor string: SGI client glx vendor string: Mesa Project and SGI OpenGL vendor string: X.Org It seems as if no hw-driver is loaded. So I upgraded to kernel-stable 4.9 and its equivalent kernel-firmware. But to no improvement. When I look up /lib/firmware/radeon "CARRIZO" does not show up. It's predecessor KAVERI does as -rw-r--r-- 3 root root 8832 16. Dez 2015 kaveri_ce.bin -rw-r--r-- 3 root root 8832 16. Dez 2015 kaveri_me.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 17024 1. Can I actually simply clone https://people.freedesktop.org/~agd5f/radeon_ucode/carrizo/ in there and run an mkinitrd? Is it a better idea to run tumbleweed and wait for the 42.3 release?
