I did not suggest to use a text processor, but a database or a table processor.
I thought you mentioned *office, that's a text-processor in my book. It's basically not meant for handling tens of thousands of lines.
No no. Libre Office is a suite, has different programs. One is the text processor, but another is a calc program, similar to Excel, which is capable of importing databases into a table. Another is "lobase", a database eumm... processor.
Hmm, I have just changed to storage=none on a test system, and syslog-ng does indeed not work. Interesting, I wonder why that is. Well, not a real problem, we use the default journal setup anyway.
And Andrei said that it does not work for him on TW with rsyslog. want to know if this is a change somewhere that makes my trick impossible, or some config error that can be solved.
There's something for you to do over the Xmas holidays. :-)
Yes, but I need access to my main computer, to create virtual machines into which experiment. On the laptop, 42.2 means rebooting to the test partition. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
