My top right corner (this is a machine running 42.2) has three items, not four.
There is a keyboard or language selector, and in the bar it displays a text, not an icon: en_us.utf8.
Then an icon that seems a human shape. Clicking says "large font F1, high contrast F2", and it works.
Finally, there is something like a power button, that says "suspend, hibernate, restart, shut down alt-f4".
That's weird. The desktop selector is missing, at least as you describe it.
Yep.
I confirm that desktop selector is present in this place in 42.2. May be it is shown only if multiple sessions are installed?
Well, I have at least XFCE and LXDE functional, because I have tried them. The machine also has gnome and kde (or is it plasma?) patterns installed, but not tested (I did not intend to install them initially, but I needed to find a session starter that worked. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
